There is also a Dodge park and a Dodge pond in Lempster/Marlow, NH. Charlene wrote: 'A Dodge is buried in our very old (the sign says first in the U.S.) Seventh Day Adventist cemetery, just down the road from our home. The headstone is so old it is hard to read but I can contact the Seventh Day folks for any history they might have.

As Charlene has the time she will try to find other Dodge stones that are in the cemeteries in the Lempster/Marlow area of New Hampshire. We know that Asa DODGE, b. 10 Feb 1802 and d. 10 Jan 1803 was buried in the Lempster Cemetery 12 Jan 1803. Our records also show that other members of Isaac Dodge's family are buried in the Lempster Cemetery and hopefully we will soon be able to add photos to this page..

Isaac Milton Dodge enlisted in the Civil War from Lempster, NH as a Private at the age of 41 in the 9th NH Infantry, Company G on 8/13/1862, and he died in the war. A bounty was offered to fill the town of Lempster's quota and Isaac Dodge signed for a two hundred dollar bonus. According to Lord's "History of the Ninth Regiment", Isaac is listed in the Roster as Follows: Dodge, Isaac M. Co. G; b. Lempster; age 41; res. Lempster, credited Lempster; enrolled August 13, '62; mustered in Aug. 14, 62, as Private. Died of disease in camp Jan. 25, 1863 near Falmouth, Virginia. (Lord's, information in an e-mail from Helen A. Gillespie) His name is engraved on THIS granite Civil War Marker in front of the church in Lempster, NH honoring those who served and died from the town of Lempster, NH in the Civil War. "
