Henry Dodge Family Information
For a long time, actually, for years, this families' ancestry was a mystery. We had an idea that it belonged to the family of Rev. Josiah Rogers Dodge, but had no proof. In 2004, we received mail from an ancestor who went to Hardin County, Kentucky, and found the proof that indeed, as we had thought, Henry was the son of Josiah Dodge and his first wife, Drusilla Hendricks. They also had two girls, Jane, b. abt. 1815 and d. 1880 who married #1. Samuel Humphreys, July 30, 1835 in Hardin County, Kentucky, and #2. David Pointer, Dec. 8, 1866, in Knox County, Illinois ... and ... Susan, b. abt. 1821. Susan m. Charles Howell, Nov. 30, 1840, in Hardin County, Kentucky.

On the far right, sitting, is Henry Dodge b. 23 Dec 1813 and married Lourena Jolly. On the far left, sitting, is a son of Henry, Thomas Jefferson Dodge b. 20 July 1865. Standing in the back is a son of Thomas, Sherman Tecumseh Dodge b. 20 July 1865, and directly in front of him is Sherman's son, Clarence Sherman Dodge b. 1884?.	These are the four children of Sherman Tecumseh Dodge. They are, clockwise from the left, Mary Mable Dodge, b. 23 Dec 1886, Clarence Sherman Dodge, b.1884?, Evelyn Dodge, b. 27 Jan 1889, and Richard Corwin Dodge, b. 30 Nov 1892. Thomas William Dodge was the son of Walter Dodge who was one of the sons of Thoams Jefferson Dodge and his wife, Carolyn Atwater

This document is an affidavit regarding the marriage of John Dodge to Louisa Meyers. This is the first document found that mentions the name of one of Henry's brothers, Thomas. Based on this information we were convinced more than ever that Henry was somehow tied to the family of Rev. Josiah Rogers Dodge who died in Hardin County, Kentucky.	Henry and Lourena moved their family to Illinois and this is the death certificate for Lourena
