Dodge Photo Album

Dodge line descending from Richard Dodge and Edith Woodbury
Richard arrived in Salem, from England, in 1638
(Frederick Bradstreet, Hervey, Andrew, Luke, Thomas, Andrew, John, Richard)

Recently we received corrections and additional information from Jan Waugh whose mother owns the Curtis Family Bible. There are still MANY unidentified photos on this page. Can you help identify them?

We have another Dodge photo album that was given to us by one of our members. In that album, as in this album, there is a photo of the same person, named Almina Abigail Curtis Porter. She is named Almira A. Dodge Powles in the Florida album. To view the Florida album, click here.

We could write a page or two about the intricacies of the genealogy of this Dodge line but it would be more than you want to read. Jan Waugh, sent the following information: Some of the photos that you have on your website are children of my ancestor, Joseph Kilborn CURTIS. Joseph had three wives, Almena SIBLEY, Emily MILES and Cynthia Simpson STEVENS, Cynthia being my ancestor. Much, if not all, of this information comes from a CURTIS Bible which my mother has. Emily MILES was the mother of:Atherton Thayer; Almina Abigail; Emily Miles;Adelaide Acelia; Adelaide Electra; Erastus Miles

Cynthia STEVENS was the mother of: Catherine Cynthia; Joseph Kilborn; Harry Bradstreet; Ida Louise Bessie Rozella (my ancestor); Almena SIBLEY died within weeks of giving birth to Henry Sibley CURTIS.

#5. Labeled in the Album: F. p. Dodge - 1883 - However, we believe this to be Franklin Luke Dodge, b. 1853
#6. Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Dane Dodge, Jr. and their son, Nathan. Nathan Dane Dodge Jr. was b. 1840 and his son, Nathan Diamond Dodge, b.1866. The lady in the photo is the wife of Nathan Dane Dodge, Matila Hinsdale. Nathan's parents were Nathan Dane Dodge, Sr., and Sarah Shepard, and his grandparents were Andrew Dodge and Elizabeth Dane.
#7. R. Gardner Dodge - This is Ransome Gardner Dodge, a son of William Hervey Dodge and Elvire Gardner, grandson of Hervey Dodge and Angeline Stevens. Ransome was b. 31 July 1872 in Kalamazoo, MI and d. 21 Sept. 1931 in Cleveland OH.

#8. This lady is Adelaide Electra Curtis. It is amazing how many names we have seen for this lady. HOWEVER, From a Curtis family Bible, we now have what we believe is the correct name. She married Williard L. NUTT, President of Nutt & Company in Cleveland, OH and also was VP of Lorain Street Savings Bank in Cleveland, OH

#9. This photo was marked as Agnes Stevens but may be Angeline Stevens - the daughter of Bradstreet Stevens and Betsey Hartwell. She was the mother of Elizabeth Dane Dodge, wife of Lucas T. Osborn. This photo is possibly related to the second photo in the line below.

#10. Almina Abigail Curtis Porter - (given a different name in the Florida Album) This is the same person as the girl on the left of the top left photo on this page, sister to Laura Curtis.

#11. C. Halsey

#12. Corrine C. Curtis - daughter of Harry Bradstreet an Theresa Curtis. She married George M.THOMAS. Corrine was raised by her Aunt Adelaide and Williard NUTT. Corrine was born around 1881 and I know that Harry Bradstreet CURTIS died in 1887. I don't know the circumstances nor when Corrine's mother died. The Nutt's willed Corrine their property as they had no children.
