Fred Dodge Homestead,
Deerfield, New Hampshire

Fred Dodge owned this beautiful house, barn and acerage for many years. He kept it spotless. When walking from the kitchen door that went into the smaller attached barn, everything was pristene, clean, uncluttered. You could continue the walk into the very large barn without ever setting foot outside. This is what was done in New England because of the4 bitter winters many years ago. Fred kept the grounds in the same way, absolutely pristine. Years ago, we (Earl and Barbara) along with Ray and Muriel Preston of Offerton, Stockport, England, and two of our grandchildren, MIcah Pittman and Raven Dodge, had the very great priviledge of staying several nights with the Dodges in their beautiful home.

A number of years ago, Fred sold some of his property and place the rest of it, including the house, into an historic group so that it could never be ruined by houses, businesses, etc.

The three photos above and the first two photos below are various views of the house and grounds, The third photo below is of Earl and Fred in one of the barns where the carriages were kept.
