. Lincoln County Courthouse, Wiscasset, Maine, Lincoln County Deeds , Book 216, Page 39 & 40 Reed to Dodge Know all Men by these Presents That I Caleb S. Reed and Harriet Reed wife of said Caleb S. Reed of Boothbay in the County of Lincoln and State of Maine in consideration of the sum of twenty five dollars paid by Solomon Dodge of Boothbay in said County Ship Carpenter, the receipt whereof we do hereby acknowledge, do hereby give, grant, bargain, sell, and convey unto the said Solomon Dodge, Heirs and Assigns forever, a certain lot of Land situated in Boothbay and bounded as follows, biz: beginning on the Western side of the Town road leading from William Durant's to the West Harbor so called, commencing at the South corner on land owned by Mrs. Mahala J. Dodge. Thence Southerly by said road fourteen rods and Eleven feet, thence Westerly Eleven rods, thence Northerly twelve rods to land of Mrs. Mahala J. Dodge, thence Easterly thirteen rods by said Land, to the first mentioned bound, containing one acre more of lefs. To have and to hold the aforegranted and bargained Premises with all the privileges and appurtenances Thereof, to the said Solomon Dodge, Heirs and Assigns to their use and behoof forever. And we do covenant with the said Solomon Dodge, Heirs and Assigns, that we are lawfully seized in fee of the premises, that they are free of all incumbrances; that we have good right to sell and convey the same to the said Solomon Dodge to hold as aforesaid; and that we and our Heirs shall and will Warrant and Defend the same to the said Solomon Dodge, his Heirs and Afsigns forever, against the lawful claims and demands of all persons. In Witnefs Whereof, we the said Caleb S. Reed and Harriet Reed wife of the said Caleb S. Reed in testimony of her relinquishment o her right of Dower, in the above described Premises, have hereunto set our hand and seal this second day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty Eight Caleb S. Reed and a seal
Signed, Sealed and delivered in presence of Leonard McCobb, Lincoln, fs. September 2, 1858. Personally appeared the above Caleb S. Reed and Harriet Reed and acknowledged the above instrument to be their free act and deed.
