John Dodge of Middle Chinnock, Somerset, England, was the father of William and Richard who came to America in 1629 and 1638, respectively. They settled in what is now, Salem, Massachusetts. Tristram Dodge came to Block Island, Rhode Island in 1660/61. He came from England, via Newfoundland, via Taunton, Massachusetts. We believe that his ancestors were came from Northern England |
Lineage - John Dodge, Middle Chinnock, England, through William George Dodge, Jr. b. abt. 1749 in Ipswich, Essex Co., Massachusetts, and d. 12 May 1827. He served as a Private. He married Mary Cleaves with whom he had 2 sons, Henry and Joshua. When Mary died, he married Sally Brown. THye had 5 children; Mary Cleaves Dodge, Jesee Dodge, Huldah Dodge, Marth F. Dodge,Lavinia Dodge George was the son of George Dodge and Martha Fitch Fiske. |
