John Dodge of Middle Chinnock, Somerset, England, was the father of William and Richard who came to America in 1629 and 1638, respectively. They settled in what is now, Salem, Massachusetts.
Tristram Dodge came to Block Island, Rhode Island in 1660/61. He came from England, via Newfoundland, via Taunton, Massachusetts. We believe that his ancestors were came from Northern England

Samuel Dodge Jr., was born in 1730 and died in 1807, He was Captain in New York line during the Revolution
His sons, Samuel , Henry, and Richard also served in this war.

Lineage - Tristram Dodge, Block Island
Samuel Dodge was born September 01, 1754 in New York City, New York, and died October 27, 1795 in New York City, New York. He married Mary Forbes August 07, 1784, daughter of William Forbes and Elizabeth Herring. She was born in New York City, New York.
He was 2nd Lieutenant in 2nd Continental Regiment of Dutchess County, Colonel DuBois, and served until the close of war.
His father Samuel and brother's, Henry and Richard also served in this war.
Samuel was the son of Samual Dodge and Helena Amerman
Lineage - Tristram Dodge, Block Island
Samuel Dodge, a signer of a petition to the Provincial Congress for the Province of New York, from Marbletown, asking to be embodied into a company of Grenadiers to be commanded by Charles W. Brodhead, captain, which was granted. He served with the American troops under General Gates, and returned to New York City upon leaving the Army.
Samuel was the son of Wilkie Dodge and Mary Hunt
Lineage - Tristram Dodge, Block Island
Seth Dodge, served as Private in Captain Joseph Walker?s Company of the 3rd Regiment of the Connecticut Line (light infantry) from 1 May through 31 Dec 1781; Seth and his brother, Reuben both re-enlisted on November 29th of that year for three years or the duration of the War. Muster rolls show that they were still serving in Dec 1782 and Jan 1783. Seth and Reuben participated in the siege of Yorktown, including the seizure of Redoubt No. 10. Both returned home after the War.
Seth (and Reuben) was the son of John Dodge and Elizabeth (Tabitha) Dodge

For Reuben only an additional source was 'Genealogical Abstracts of Revolutionary War Pension Files,' Vol. I, pp 993, by Virgil D. White, The National Historical Publishing Co., Waynesboro, TN, 1930.
Lineage - Tristram Dodge, Block Island
Shadrack Dodge, b. 15 Aug 1762, Brookfield, Worcester Co., Massachusetts; Some records have name as Shadrick.
Private in 2nd Co. in Col. Ashleys regiment from New Hampshire. Fought (but never actually enlisted) in American Revolution at the tender age of 14. He died in Ashtabula, July 23, 1845, age 84 years. He served in Capt. Macgregor's Co. of Inf., in the Regiment of Col. Cortland; fought in Divisions of Gates; of Lafayette and under immediate command of Washington.
"The spirit which called to the field at the age of 16 burned within him to the last . . . . . . He was a patriot by constitution and lived and died engrossed with one idea - the glory of serving and saving his country." Ashtabula Sentinal, July 23, 1845
Shadrach was the son of Josiah Dodge and Rebecca (last name unknown)
Note: He also fought in the French-Indian War.

Simeon Dodge, born 1764, Cazenovia, Madison Co., NY Simeon had sons Isaac, who fought in the war of 1812, and Lury (no, that's not a typo) who all lived in Cazenovia, Madison Co., NY
Lineage - John Dodge, Middle Chinnock, England, through Richard
Simeon Dodge (1755-1827) turned out from Beverly, Mass. at the Lexington Alarm. He enlisted 1777 for three years in the Massachusetts Continental Line in Captain Billy Porter's company, Benjamin Tuppers regiment. He served three years without pay, emolument or subsequent pension. He was born in Beverly, Massachussetts; died in Francestown, New Hampshire.
Simeon was the son of William Dodge and Mary Baker.

Simon Dodge, b. 26 Aug 1751, Wenham, Essex Co., Massachusetts and d. 8 Dec 1838, New Boston, Hillsborough Co., New Hampshire
A revolutionary Soldier, private, Mass Continental line, placed on Pension rolls, June 30, 1818. He enlisted 6 July, 1780, and served till 4 December for New Boston. Was mustered by Maj. Wm. Scott. N.H. State Papers, vol 16,pp 86-100.

Solomon Dodge, born 8 Nov 1759, Beverly, Essex Co., Massachusetts.
The Vermont Historical Gazetteer states that Solomon Dodge, probably with his parents, was a resident ot Peterborough during the latter part of the Revolution.
He enlisted into Captain Peter Clark's company of Colonel Daniel Moore's regiment, which marched from Lyndeborough in 1777 to join the American army at Saratoga, September 30, 1777; discharged, October 27th; service, 28 days. Rank, sergeant; pay per month, L4 18s. Total pay and travel, L7 12s 3d. XV, 350, 352. Was a recruit in the Continental Army for service at West Point in 1780. Enlisted June 28th; discharged, December 6, 1780. Age, 20 years. Service, five months, 18 days. Amount of wages, L 750 8s; Allowance for blanket, L355; travel. L 58 16s. Ratio was 67 to 1. Total L1144 4s. XVI, 82, 92, 106.
Solomon's son, Robert, fought in the War of 1812.
Solomon's parents were Robert Dodge and Lydia Dodge.
Lineage - Tristram Dodge, Block Island
Stephen Sands; a letter written June 16, 1776, by Samuel Dodge (Samuel, William, Tristram) to a cousin, Thomas Dodge, says that he saw Stephen at Fort Montgomery "last Wednesday," and that Stephen was again in Capt. Rosekrans' Company. New York in the Revolution' p. 49, gives Stephen Dodge as a soldier in the New York Line, 4th Regiment, in which Capt. James Rosekrans commanded a company.
Stephen was the grandson of Jeremiah Dodge and Elizabeth Sutton.
