John Dodge of Middle Chinnock, Somerset, England, was the father of William and Richard who came to America in 1629 and 1638, respectively. They settled in what is now, Salem, Massachusetts.
Tristram Dodge came to Block Island, Rhode Island in 1660/61. He came from England, via Newfoundland, via Taunton, Massachusetts. We believe that his ancestors were came from Northern England

Laroy Dodge of Barre, Vermont. Army, Private. DOE 29 July 1862, Co. B 10th Vermont Infantry; DOM 1 Sept 1862.
Laroy died of wounds 28 Oct 1864 from the battle of Fisher's Hill, Virginia which occurred 22 Sept 1864
Laroy's parents were Joseph Dodge and Lorenda Thompson.

Leonard Dodge, b. 1842 in Troupsburg, N.Y., and fought for the Union Army in the Civil War.
Service: Union soldier, Civil War, served in Wilderness Campaign He was killed on January 15, 1865, at Fort Fisher, North Carolina
Leonard was a son of Lyman Dodge and Susan Baird.

Leroy M. Dodge, b. 1839; Clinton County, Michigan; Enlisted: Enlisted 12 Aug 1861; - Union; Rank Induction: Private; Rank Discharge: Private
8th Regiment, Michigan Infantry, Cos. B & F. Died James Island, South Carolina 10 August 1864
Leroy was the son of Stephen A. Dodge and Rhoda A. Casper.
Lineage - John Dodge, Middle Chinnock, England through Richard
Lewis H. Dodge of Barre, Vermont. Army. Private. DOE 3 Sept. 1861, Co. D, 2nd Vermont Infantry; DOM 3 Sept. 1861.
Lewis was wounded and taken prisoner 29 June 1862 at the battle of Savage Station, Virginia.
He was parolled 25 Jul. 1862 and died of his wounds 1 Sept. 1862
His brother, Luther also Served and died in this war
Lewis's parents were Nathan Dodge and Fannie Rodgers
Lewis had two brothers who also died in this war. Nelson Dodge and Luther C. Dodge

Lineage - John Dodge, Middle Chinnock, England through William
Lorin Dodge, Burnham, Maine. Enlisted: 13 Oct 1862 - Union Army, 24th Regiment, Maine Infantry, Co. C; Rank Induction: Private; Rank Discharge: Private; Died June 27, 1863 from a disease of the war and was buried in the family plot 8 days later in Mount Cemetery, Burnham Maine.
Lorin was the son of George Dodge and Prudence Twitchell.

Luther C. Dodge of Barre, Vermont. Army. Private. DOE 3 Apr 1862, Co. D, 2nd Vermont Infantry; DOM 12 Apr 1862.
Luther died of disease 12 June 1862 and his brother, Lewis H. Dodge also served and also died.
Luther's parents were Nathan Dodge and Fannie Rodgers
Luther had two brothers who also died in this war. Nelson Dodge and Lewis Dodge

He died 7 June 1863 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Enlisted: 22 Oct 1861 - Union; Rank Induction: Private; 6th Regiment, New Hampshire Infantry, Co. B
Died of disease Company B, 6th Infantry Regiment New Hampshire on 28 Jan 1862 at Hatteras Inlet, NC.
Lyman was the son of Elijah Dodge Jr. and Eliza Bowles
