John Dodge of Middle Chinnock, Somerset, England, was the father of William and Richard who came to America in 1629 and 1638, respectively. They settled in what is now, Salem, Massachusetts.
Tristram Dodge came to Block Island, Rhode Island in 1660/61. He came from England, via Newfoundland, via Taunton, Massachusetts. We believe that his ancestors were came from Northern England

Samuel Dodge, Cascade, Michigan; Enlisted: 15 Nov 1861 - Union; Rank Induction: Private; Rank Discharge: Private; 3rd Regiment, Michigan Infantry, Co. A, Killed at Fari Oaks, Virginia, May 31, 1862
Samuel was the son of Owen Dodge and Mary Livergood.
Lineage - John Dodge, Middle Chinnock, through Richard
Samuel Gilman Dodge. His monument in Sunnyside Cemetery, Bennington, New Hampshire states: Company D. 11 regt, NH Volunteers Killed in the Battle of Fredricksburg, buried on the Battlefield. He Sacrificed his life for his Country.
Samuel was the son of Samuel Dodge and Jane Dodge.
Lineage -Tristram Dodge, Block Island
Silas Dodge - Born: abt. 1839; Mound, Illinois ; Enlisted: 12 Aug 1862; Union Army; 85th Illinois Infantry - Co. G. - Corporal;
27 June 1864 Wounded in Battle of Kennesaw Mtn., GA, 9 July 1864 and died in Military Hospital in Chattanooga, TN; Buried in Chattanooga National Cemetery, Tennessee;
Silas's brother, John W. Dodge also fought in this war, but he was fortunate enough to survive. His name can be found in the War Between the States list of those who fought and came home.

Silas C. Dodge, b. 1842, Cambria, Michigan; Enlisted: 06 Aug 1862 - Union; Rank Induction: Private; Rank Discharge: Private; 18th Regiment, Michigan Infantry, Co. D
Died March 12, 1965 of disease Huntsville, Alabama.
Silas was the son of Jonas and Olive Dodge, both born in New York.

Stephen A. Dodge, Woolwich, Maine; Enlisted: 04 Jun 1861 - Union; Rank Induction: Private; Rank Discharge: Private; 3rd Regiment, Maine Infantry, Co. D
Killed 1 Sep 1862, at the battle of Chantilly, (Batttle of Ox Hill) He was a member of Company D, 3rd regiment. He was Unmarried and died at 26 years of age.
Stephen's parents were Sylvester Dodge and Sarah 'Sally' Adams.
