John Dodge of Middle Chinnock, Somerset, England, was the father of William and Richard who came to America in 1629 and 1638, respectively. They settled in what is now, Salem, Massachusetts.
Tristram Dodge came to Block Island, Rhode Island in 1660/61. He came from England, via Newfoundland, via Taunton, Massachusetts. We believe that his ancestors were came from Northern England

Garrett was the son of Garrett C. Dodge and Hannah Unknown.

George Alfred Alonzo Dodge of Royalton, Vermont. Enlisted: 23 Sep 1861 - Union, Rank Induction: Private Rank Discharge: Private, 1st Regiment, Vermont Cavalry, Co. E
He was killed in action 25 May 1862 in Virginia
George was the son of son of Reuben Dodge and Betsey Smith.

George H. (Hubbard) Dodge, Born: Dec. 7, 1845 in West Stockbridge, Berkshire County, Massachusetts;
He enlisted: in the Union Army 22 Dec 1863 in the 27th Regiment, Massachusetts Infantry, Co. B; Rank Induction: Private; Rank Discharge: Private;
His death is recorded in Leverett, Massachusetts but he died on June 7, 1864 in Cold Harbor, Virgnia of wounds suffered during the war. He was 18 years six months 0 days of age when he died. He is buried in Cold Harbor National Cemetery, Virginia. He was single.
He was the son of David N. (Newell) Dodge and Sophia Stevens Pratt.
In the 1860 census for Leverett in Franklin Co., Mass he is age 14 in the household of David N. 47 born about 1812 in Vt. and Sophia 41 born Mass. along with Philip M. 19 born 1840 Vt., Albert B. 10 born 1849 Mass., James H. 8 born 1851 Mass., David N. 6 born 1853 Mass., Ellen 2 born 1857 Mass., William 1.12 born Mass. and Molly 76 born 1783 Vt. Also according to Rootsweb David N. was the son of Royal and Molley Whitney

He enlisted FIRST 13 August 1862 in Co. D, 8th Infantry Regiment; He enlisted SECOND 10 Feb 1864 in Co., C, third Calvary Regiment
He was killed 19 Oct 1864 at Cedar Creek, Virginia
George was George William Dodge, son of William M. Dodge and Unknown

George Washington Dodge was born in Burnham, Maine. He Enlisted 19 Oct 1861 as a Private in the Union Army, 1st Regiment, Maine Cavalry, Co. A. His brother, Nelson enlisted the same day in the same regiment. Two other brothers of George and Nelson, Arnold, and Daniel enlisted in 1864. George died Sep 18, 1862 and is buried in the Annapolis , Maryland, National Cemetery, Section H, Row 0, grave 2046
These brothers were the sons of Daniel Dodge, and Azuba Kimball

George W. S. Dodge, born Aug 4, 1833, McDonough, Chenago Co., New York; Served in the Civil War - 2nd Lieut Co B. Reg Iowa Vol.; He died at the battle of Belmont Missouri.
Son of Martin Dodge and Betsy Maria Barnes. George's brothers William, John and Henry also fought in the war.

George Washington Dodge, born abt. 1838; died April 18, 1862, Annapolis, Maryland; Was in Andersonville Prison in the civil War. He was exchanged but died upon reaching home. Buried in Ashgrove Cemetery; Son of Daniel Dodge and Azuba Kimball

Godolphin Dodge, Huron, Michigan, b. 1835; Enlisted in 6th Regiment, Michigan Cavalry, Co. C 09 Sep 1862 - Union;
Rank Induction: Private; Rank Discharge: Corporal
He became a POW 14 July 1863 at Falling Waters, Maryland and died as prisoner in Richmond, Virginia, Nov. 7, 1863
Godolphin was the son of David Horton, a lighthouse keeper, and Martha (unknown last name).
Note: It appears as if Godolphin enlisted for the war 09 September 1862, then married a month later before reporting for duty. We know from research that he was a POW for several months before dying 07 November 1863. Godolphin had a number of siblings: William , b. Canada; Laban Dodge, b. Canada; David, b. Canada; Charles, b. Canada; John, b. New York; Dora, b. Michigan
